MRK's Storage Management provides customers
with the knowledge to determine your infrastructure
and operational readiness of adopting either a Network
Attached Storage (NAS) or a Storage Area Network (SAN)
type of storage architecture. The terms “NAS” and “SAN” refer
to a pooling of storage resources in order to provide
better availability, scalability, performance and data
protection.
MRK has recognized these problems and focuses on a "core" set
of offerings that allow us to maintain focus and deliver
the expertise that you (our client) demand. Our focus
is centered on the following core offerings:
- NAS & SAN Topologies
- Qualifying NAS and SAN Partners
- Solving Growth Problems and Storage Management
- Preparing an Imminent RFP
- Disaster Recovery/Business Continuity
- Data Archival
- Data Deduplication
- RTO/RPO
MRK's experience and knowledge in Storage Management
(including testing, analysis, design, implementation
and documentation) allow enterprises to start implementing
a solid foundation today to support the future networked
environment.
The storage market is going through a rapid period
of change. The terms of how storage is viewed in relation
to the rest of a company's network is evolving. Technology,
such as Fibre Channel, allows companies to provide
a greater degree of connectivity in terms of both the
number of devices that may be connected and the distances
between them.
Today, implementing a Storage Area Network (SAN) solution
provides a link between multiple servers and their required
storage. Network administrators are able to scale either
the storage or server processing power as requirements
demand. This ability reduces the overall cost and maintenance
of your company's disk storage. By partnering with leaders
in the industry, such as Hitachi Data Systems ,
MRK is poised to provide companies with a stable, high
availability storage solution including top-level support
through its partners.
NAS is an alternative solution for consolidating data
from multiple sources and centralizing it for improved
manageability and performance. NAS relies on a dedicated
appliance to store and serve data. It attaches directly
to the network, and offers enterprise-level scalability
and ease of data management.
MRK has partnered with Hitachi Data Systems to
implement NAS solutions, a relatively new HDS product,
yet proven technology. MRK's NAS solutions offer clients
a cost-effective method to improve performance, reliability
and manageability of data.
File System Management provides high performance,
quick recovery, and standard compliant utility. It
can augment high availability, increased bandwidth
and up-to-date, reliable, structural integrity.
While the system is active, Volume Management provides
easy-to-use online disk management. This technology also
provides the tools you need to improve performance and
ensure data availability and integrity through disk usage
analysis, RAID techniques and dynamic disk storage configuration.
Clustering is a software solution that permits you
to combine a number of individual network servers into
a cluster, thereby providing users with virtually uninterrupted
access to their critical network resources such as
data, applications, server licenses, and other services.
If one network server (cluster node) in the cluster
happens to fail, another will automatically take over
the resources and services it provided.
Disaster Recovery has never been more important as it is today with continuous threats to our systems from outside sources. MRK has partnered with many different vendors to help customers protect their environments from these threats while providing safe effective ways to help mitigate losses from a data outage. With Partners like Hitachi Data Systems and InMage, MRK is capable in designing a Business Continuity plan to help CIO’s achieve their RTO and RPO goals.
Content Archival has never been more challenging as it is today with new regulations like HIPPA, Sarbanes Oxley and many other Government regulations. MRK Technologies has partnered with many different vendors to help our customers guarantee their environments comply with all of the complex factors of data retention while providing safe effective ways to help reduce the costs of litigation.
Deduplication storage systems dramatically reduce the amount of disk storage needed to retain and protect enterprise data. By identifying redundant files and data as they are being stored, Deduplication systems provide a storage footprint that is 10x-30x smaller, on average, than the original data set. By partnering with Data Domain backup data can then be efficiently replicated and retrieved over existing networks for streamlined disaster recovery and consolidated tape operations.
Business disruption due to lack of continuous data availability is extraordinarily costly for businesses around the world. In fact, The National Archives and Records Administration reports that more than 93 percent of companies that lost their data center for 10 days or more due to a disaster filed for bankruptcy within one year of the disaster. Even the largest enterprises are exposed to the prospect of frequent business interruptions due to infrequent backups, backup failures, data corruptions, virus attacks, and other crises. Previous solutions fell short on both technology and cost fronts by scheduling backups and recovery on a single dimension- time - with no correlation to an organization's business events. That approach limited an organization's ability to accurately assure data consistency across geographical boundaries or to recover information based on a significant transaction or meaningful activity. InMage has solved these problems. The unique combination of scoping assistance, near-zero RPO and RTO, support for heterogeneous environments, and lack of disruption to the existing infrastructure both during installation and throughout normal operations provides clear, quantifiable benefits to even the largest organizations.
